About Me
I am currently a psychology doctoral intern at McGill University, completing part of my final residency at Psychologia Clinic under the supervision of Dr. Alina Kao and Dr. Jean-François Jodouin. I hold a B.A. with Honors in Psychology from Concordia University and an M.A. in Counselling Psychology from McGill University. My research background is in sexuality and developmental psychology, and my doctoral research focuses on the role of sleep in the health outcomes of youth with conduct disorder.
Clinical Experience and Interests
Since 2019, I have been providing psychotherapy and have gained experience through internships in various settings, including the educational, public, and private healthcare sectors. My clinical experience includes working at private practice clinics as well as McGill University's Psychoeducational and Counselling Clinic. I have supported individuals with a wide range of presenting concerns, including mood disorders (e.g., depression, bipolar disorder), anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, eating disorders, substance abuse, attentional difficulties, self-esteem issues, parenting challenges, and relational distress.
I also completed a part-time internship at the Sex and Couple Therapy Service at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC), where I received specialized training in sexual dysfunction and couple’s therapy. I worked with individuals, couples and groups, presenting with issues such as erectile dysfunction, low sexual desire, “out-of-control” sexual behaviour, infidelity, intimacy, conflict, and communication issues.
Psychotherapy Approach
Currently, I aim to expand my clinical training and further specialize in working with couples and individuals facing sexual or relational challenges. My therapeutic approach is integrative, evidence-based, and tailored to the specific needs of each client. I incorporate interventions from various modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Humanistic and Existential Therapies, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). At the core of my therapeutic approach is the therapeutic alliance, in which I focus on cultivating a strong, genuine, and warm connection with people.
